    Ghar Parau (Parau Cave), known as the Cave of Death or the Everest of Caves, is a lethal vertical cave system situated high on Mount Parau in the Zagros Mountains near Kermanshah. Reaching a depth of 752 meters with icy underground rivers and near-freezing temperatures, the cave has claimed the lives of five experienced speleologists, generating terrifying tales of phantom screams, trapped spirits, and a lingering underworld curse.
