Ghostly Church of Ehmej
Nestled high in the rugged cedar-scented mountains of the Byblos District, the Ghostly Church of Ehmej is an abandoned 18th-century stone sanctuary shrouded in sacred mysteries. Built during the Ottoman period by Maronite mountain villagers, the church was abandoned following a tragic mountain feud and subsequent earthquake. Today, hikers and pilgrims report seeing the glowing apparition of a priest praying at the stone altar, accompanied by the sweet aroma of frankincense and distant Aramaic chanting.
