Old Train Station of Rayak
Built in 1895 during the late Ottoman era, the Old Train Station of Rayak was once the premier railway junction of the Levant, connecting Beirut to Damascus and Aleppo. Complete with massive locomotive repair shops and military depots, the station played pivotal roles in both World Wars before falling silent during the 1975 Civil War. Today, the rusty iron locomotives and decaying platforms are haunted by tales of phantom train whistles, clanking metal, and ghostly station guards.
