Obere Burg Schellenberg
Obere Burg, also known as Burg Neu-Schellenberg, is the largest and most impressive medieval castle ruin in Liechtenstein. Perched on a forested ridge overlooking the Rhine Valley, this twelfth-century fortress was abandoned in the sixteenth century and remains steeped in local folklore regarding phantom sentinels, ghostly ladies, and secret subterranean vaults. Standing quietly along the scenic Alpine Rhine Valley, this location remains one of the most celebrated stops for travelers interested in dark tourism and historical legends.
