Bock Casemates
The Bock Casemates form an immense underground labyrinth carved directly into the rocky promontory where Luxembourg City was founded in 963 AD. Spanning over twenty kilometers of subterranean passages, galleries, and artillery slots, this fortress system earned Luxembourg the nickname 'Gibraltar of the North.' Beyond its military history, the site is bound to the tragic legend of Count Siegfried and Melusina, the mythical siren whose restless spirit is said to haunt the subterranean stone vaults and surrounding Alzette River.
