Vianden Castle
Vianden Castle towers dramatically over the Our River valley in northern Luxembourg, standing as one of the largest and most magnificent fortified feudal strongholds west of the Rhine. Built between the eleventh and fourteenth centuries on Roman foundations, the palace was home to the powerful Counts of Vianden. Local legends tell of a ghostly spectral horse, tragic noble secrets, and mysterious phantom figures haunting its restored romanesque and gothic halls.
