Royal Palace Complex

Rova of Antananarivo
Perched atop Analamanga, the highest hill in Antananarivo, the Rova of Antananarivo served as the royal palace complex for the Merina Kingdom and the Kingdom of Madagascar. Marked by centuries of political drama, royal executions, and a catastrophic fire in 1995, the complex is renowned for spectral sightings of Queen Ranavalona I, ghost soldiers, and restless royal spirits that haunt the reconstructed stone galleries and royal tombs.
