    Karak Highway

    Genting SempahMalaysia1977–present

The Karak Highway (officially part of the Kuala Lumpur–Karak Expressway E8) is a 60-kilometer interstate highway connecting Gombak, Selangor, to Karak, Pahang, cutting through the dense rainforests of the Titiwangsa Mountain Range. Opened in 1977 as a single-carriageway mountain road, the highway gained a deadly reputation due to frequent fatal accidents along its sharp curves, steep descents, and unlit mountain stretches. Infamous for high-profile multi-vehicle collisions—including the tragic 1990 Genting Sempah crash that claimed 17 lives—the highway became Peninsular Malaysia's most celebrated location for supernatural urban legends, including phantom vehicles, headless drivers, and lost child specters.
