Kasbah Boulaouane
Kasbah Boulaouane is a massive, isolated eighteenth-century hilltop fortress perched high above a dramatic loop of the Oum Er-Rbia River in the Doukkala plain. Built in 1710 by Sultan Moulay Ismail to command strategic river crossings and control local tribes, the vast stone castle features towering bastions, a ruined royal palace, and a high residential tower. Surrounded by quiet countryside, the windswept ruins are renowned in regional folklore for ghost sightings, phantom horsemen, and lingering Jinn spirits.
