Bimmah Sinkhole
Bimmah Sinkhole, known locally as Hawiyyat Najm (The Falling Star), is a breathtaking water-filled limestone depression located near Dabab on the coastal road between Muscat and Sur. Filled with crystal-clear turquoise water that mixes fresh groundwater with sea water from the Gulf of Oman, the sinkhole spans roughly 160 feet across. According to Omani legend, the deep pool was formed when a piece of a fallen star struck the earth, opening a portal to subterranean realms.
