    Tanuf Ruins

    NizwaOman17th Century / Destroyed 1957

Tanuf Ruins is a haunting monument to 20th-century warfare situated at the mouth of Wadi Tanuf near Nizwa. Once a thriving mudbrick village famed for its mountain spring water, Tanuf was bombed into ruins in 1957 during the Jebel Akhdar War. Visitors report eerie feelings of grief, disembodied cries, and shadow figures among the war-torn debris.
