Ranikot Fort
Ranikot Fort, commonly known as 'The Great Wall of Sindh', is believed to be the largest fort in the world, with a stone perimeter wall extending roughly 32 kilometers (20 miles) across the arid Kirthar Mountains. Located in Jamshoro District, Sindh, the origin of this colossal desert fortress remains one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in Asian archaeology. Attributed in part to the Talpur Mirs of Sindh in the early 19th century, the fort's foundational origins are far more ancient, with theories linking its construction to Sassanian, Greco-Bactrian, or Scythian rulers. Surrounded by barren mountain crags and devoid of any major historical siege or large permanent city, Ranikot stands as a silent, haunting 'ghost fortress' infamous across Pakistan for tales of phantom armies, mysterious light orbs, and ancient Jinn guardians.
