Rising to 1,725 meters on the border between Poland and Slovakia, Babia Góra (also known as Witches' Mountain) is the highest peak in the Western Beskid Mountains. Revered and feared since ancient times, the mountain's highest summit—Diablak, or Devil's Peak—is legendary in Polish folklore as a primeval gathering site for dark coves, witches' sabbaths, and demonic spirits. Infamous for its sudden, deadly weather changes, magnetic anomalies, and tragic aviation crashes, Babia Góra remains Poland's most haunted mountain.
