Al Jazirat Bin Ghannam (Purple Island)

Jazirat Bin Ghannam, popularly known as Purple Island, is an ancient landmass off the coast of Al Khor. Inhabited as early as the 2nd millennium BCE, it served as a Kassite dye production site where shellfish were processed into valuable purple dye. Legends speak of ancient ghosts, guardian spirits of the mangroves, and strange nighttime lights across the marshland.
