Căpriana Monastery
Căpriana Monastery is one of the oldest and most historic Orthodox monastic sanctuaries in Moldova, located in a quiet forest valley within Strășeni District. Founded by Prince Alexander the Good in 1429, it served as a royal sanctuary for Moldavian rulers. Centuries of royal patronage, monastic prayer, wartime desecration, and rebirth created an enduring spiritual atmosphere. Visitors and monks report seeing ghostly apparitions near the tomb of Metropolitan Gavriil Bănulescu-Bodoni.
