Tiraspol Fortress Citadel
Tiraspol Fortress Citadel, also known as the Powder Store of St. Vladimir Bastion, is the remaining stone heart of an 18th-century fort. General Alexander Suvorov ordered the fort constructed in 1792 to secure borders along the Dniester River. Decades of intense military life, underground powder stores, and wartime casualties generated lingering ghost lore. Visitors and night guards report seeing ghost sentinels and hearing ghostly military drumbeats across the grassy ramparts.
