Bedok Reservoir
Bedok Reservoir is a massive 88-hectare urban reservoir located in eastern Singapore, highly popular for dragon boating, kayaking, jogging, and outdoor recreation. Originally a deep sand quarry during the mid-20th century, the site was converted into a strategic water storage reservoir by PUB in the 1980s. The reservoir gained nationwide notoriety following a chilling string of tragic drowning suicides in 2011 and 2012, sparking widespread urban legends regarding water spirits ('Hantu Air'), phantom hands pulling swimmers beneath the surface, disembodied cries across the water at night, and dark magnetic energy attracting troubled souls.
