Bukit Brown Cemetery
Bukit Brown Cemetery is one of the largest historic Chinese burial grounds outside China, containing over 100,000 graves across 86 hectares in central Singapore. Opened officially in 1922, it serves as the final resting place for key pioneer leaders, war victims, and ordinary citizens from Singapore's early history. Famed for its elaborate traditional Qing Dynasty tomb architecture and lush tropical canopy, the cemetery is equally renowned in local folklore for intense supernatural activity, including sightings of Pontianaks, red-eyed ghost guardians, disembodied traditional opera chants, and ghostly encounters among the ancient tombstones.
