Istana Woodneuk
Istana Woodneuk is a decaying, grand two-story abandoned royal palace hidden within the dense jungle off Holland Road and Tyersall Avenue. Built in the late 19th century for Sultan Abu Bakar of Johor, the magnificent mansion served as a royal residence and later a military hospital during World War II, where hundreds of Indian military medical personnel were killed in Japanese air strikes. Ravaged by a devastating fire in 2006 and swallowed by primary rainforest growth, this untracked royal ruin is famous for terrifying encounters with spirit apparitions, disembodied cries, phantom shadows, and heavy satanic urban legends.
