View Road Hospital
View Road Hospital is a creepy, abandoned three-story building situated on a hilltop off Admiralty Road West in Woodlands, northern Singapore. Built in 1941 shortly before WWII as a British Naval Watch and accommodation lodge for the nearby Sembawang Naval Base, the facility was converted in 1975 into a branch of Woodbridge Hospital (now the Institute of Mental Health) dedicated to occupational therapy for long-term psychiatric patients. Operating until its closure in 2001, the isolated hospital complex is famous in local urban lore for heavy psychological oppression, disembodied footsteps on concrete stairs, phantom watchmen, and glowing ghostly figures at upper windows.
