Bolgoda Lake
Bolgoda Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake in Sri Lanka, sprawling across the Western Province between Moratuwa and Kalutara. Enclosed by mangrove swamps and dense tropical vegetation, this vast waterway has a rich history of colonial transport, fishing, and boating. It is equally famous for its dark supernatural folklore, centered around mysterious midnight fog apparitions, phantom canoes, drowning victims, and sightings of the dreaded Mohini spirit along its isolated banks.
