Teufelsbrücke (Devil's Bridge)
Teufelsbrücke spans the roaring Reuss River in the steep Schöllenen Gorge near Andermatt. Famous for medieval legends claiming the original structure was built by the Devil in exchange for a soul, this strategic Alpine bridge was also the site of a bloody battle during the Napoleonic Wars in 1799, filling the mist-laden canyon with lingering specters and unnatural echoes.
