Olesko Castle
Olesko Castle is one of the oldest surviving fortresses in western Ukraine, famous as the birthplace of King Jan III Sobieski. Standing atop a steep oval hill, the medieval castle has endured sieges, earthquakes, and tragic fires. Its shadowy corridors are haunted by the tragic spirit of a Polish nobleman who died by suicide after being denied his true love's hand.
