Bell Witch Cave
Nestled along the bluffs of the Red River in Adams, Tennessee, the Bell Witch Cave is a natural karst cave intrinsically tied to one of America's most famous and chilling ghost stories. The cave sits on land originally owned by John Bell Sr., whose family was terrorized between 1817 and 1821 by an enigmatic, malevolent entity known as the 'Kate' or the Bell Witch. Local folklore holds that when the entity ended its overt torment of the Bell household, it retreated into the dark chambers of the cave. Today, visitors and paranormal investigators travel from around the world to explore the limestone cavern, experiencing disembodied voices, unexplainable physical touches, and strange photographic anomalies.
