    Devil's Tramping Ground

    The Devil's Tramping Ground is an infamous 40-foot barren circle located in a dense pine forest near Bear Creek in Chatham County, North Carolina. According to legend dating back to colonial times, no vegetation will grow inside the ring because the Devil himself paces in circles here at midnight, plotting evil deeds against humanity. Anything left inside the circle overnight is reportedly cast out by morning, making it one of the oldest and most famous supernatural legends in North Carolina history.
