May-Stringer House
The May-Stringer House in Brooksville, Florida, is a grand four-story Victorian Queen Anne mansion built in 1856. Perched atop a hill overlooking Hernando County, the 14-room painted lady features seven gables, gingerbread trim, and a history filled with early deaths, Civil War turmoil, and unconfirmed homestead burials. Widely acclaimed as one of Florida's most haunted locations, the house is reputed to shelter at least eleven distinct spirits, including a three-year-old child named Jessie Mae who cries for her mother, a hostile entity in the attic, and a phantom Victorian physician.
