Coral Castle
Coral Castle, originally named Rock Gate Park, is an extraordinary stone structure and sculpture garden in Homestead, Florida, hand-built single-handedly by Latvian immigrant Edward Leedskalnin over twenty-eight years between 1923 and 1951. Standing barely five feet tall and weighing just 100 pounds, Leedskalnin secretly quarried, carved, and positioned over 1,100 tons of oolitic limestone monoliths without the use of modern machinery. Driven by tragic heartbreak after his sixteen-year-old fiancée canceled their wedding in Latvia, Ed dedicated his life to constructing this monumental monument to lost love. Renowned globally for its engineering enigma, magnetic energy theories, and supernatural lore, Coral Castle continues to intrigue engineers, scientists, and paranormal investigators who report lingering encounters with Ed's focused spirit.
