Poinsett Bridge
Poinsett Bridge, built in 1820 in rural Greenville County, South Carolina, is widely believed to be the oldest surviving stone bridge in the state and the entire Southeastern United States. Designed by Robert Mills, architect of the Washington Monument, the structure features a striking Gothic arch made of hand-hewn stone. Tucked deep in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Poinsett Bridge is equally famous for intense paranormal reports, including phantom lights, disembodied voices, and lingering spirits tied to its construction and ancient regional history.
