Bellamy Bridge, located in the swampy woodlands along the Chipola River near Marianna, Florida, is a historic steel-truss bridge constructed in 1914. Renowned as Florida's most famous haunted bridge, the structure rests on the site of an earlier 1840 wooden bridge along the historic Bellamy Road. The bridge is famous for the tragic ghost story of Elizabeth Jane Croom Bellamy, a young bride who died from horrific burns shortly after her 1837 wedding. Visitors hiking the secluded swamp trail report seeing a flaming female figure, strange blue glowing orbs, and disembodied weeping echoing across the dark river waters.
