Stuckey's Bridge
Spanning the Chunky River in rural Lauderdale County near Meridian, Mississippi, Stuckey's Bridge is an infamous haunted location steeped in dark frontier folklore. Originally constructed as a timber bridge and rebuilt as a steel truss bridge in 1901, the bridge is legendary as the execution site of 'Old Man Stuckey'—a notorious Dalton Gang affiliate or river pirate who murdered unwary travelers staying at his nearby inn. Today, visitors report spectral apparitions, floating lanterns, and disembodied screams above the dark river water.
