Point Pleasant & Mothman Legend
Situated at the confluence of the Ohio and Kanawha Rivers in Mason County, West Virginia, Point Pleasant is a historic town world-famous for the chilling Mothman phenomenon of 1966 to 1967. Over a thirteen-month period beginning in November 1966, over one hundred credible residents reported encounters with a seven-foot-tall, winged humanoid creature with glowing red eyes, centered around the abandoned World War II 'TNT Area' (McClintic Wildlife Management Area). The paranormal wave culminated in the catastrophic collapse of the Silver Bridge on December 15, 1967, which claimed 46 lives. Today, Point Pleasant stands as an iconic capital of American folklore, cryptid research, and high-strangeness hauntings.
