Asylum
5/5
St. Albans Sanatorium
Perched on a high hill overlooking the New River in Radford, Virginia, this historic site is widely regarded as one of the most intensely haunted locations on the East Coast. Originally established in 1892 as a Lutheran prep school for boys, the facility was converted into a private psychiatric hospital in 1916 by Dr. J.C. King. Subject to decades of severe patient deaths, experimental treatments, and suicide, the abandoned brick asylum has earned a terrifying national reputation for dark paranormal activity, shadow figures, and physical manifestations.
