Ferry Plantation House
Dating back to 1830, the Ferry Plantation House in Virginia Beach, Virginia, stands on historic brick foundations dating back to 1630 along the Lynnhaven River. The site originally served as a colonial ferry landing, court house, and school, and famously hosted the 1706 trial by ducking of Grace Sherwood, the 'Witch of Pungo'. Renowned as one of Virginia's most active supernatural sites, docents and visitors report encounters with eleven distinct apparitions spanning colonial, antebellum, and Civil War eras.
