Mizdahkan Necropolis
Mizdahkan Necropolis is a vast two-thousand-year-old archaeological complex and sacred burial city situated on three limestone hills near Khojeyli in Karakalpakstan. Encompassing ancient Zoroastrian excarnation sites, early Islamic mausoleums, and the ruined Gyaur-Kala fortress, Mizdahkan is world-renowned for the crumbling World Clock mausoleum. Local folklore warns that a single brick falls from this mausoleum every year, and when the final brick touches the desert soil, the world will come to an end.
