    Victoria Mansion

    PortlandUnited States1858–1860

Victoria Mansion, also known as the Morse-Libby House, is a breathtaking Italianate brownstone mansion in downtown Portland, Maine. Built between 1858 and 1860 as a summer home for hotel magnate Ruggles Sylvester Morse and his wife Olive, this National Historic Landmark retains over 90% of its original Victorian interiors and is famed among staff and visitors for eerie encounters with phantom footsteps, scent of cigar smoke, and apparitions of a Victorian lady in dark velvet.
