    Situated in Ringwood State Park in northern Passaic County, New Jersey, Ringwood Manor is a 51-room historic estate and National Historic Landmark. Positioned at the heart of an 18th-century iron-mining empire that manufactured iron links for the Hudson River Chain during the Revolutionary War under Surveyor General Robert Erskine, the manor evolved into an opulent Gilded Age country home for ironmasters Martin Ryerson, Peter Cooper, and Abram S. Hewitt. The estate is reputedly haunted by the ghost of Robert Erskine, a servant maid who perished in a tragic fire, and spectral Revolutionary War soldiers.
