Kuldhara Abandoned Village
Kuldhara is an abandoned 13th-century ghost village located 18 kilometers southwest of Jaisalmer in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan. Once a prosperous settlement inhabited by wealthy Paliwal Brahmins, Kuldhara and 83 surrounding villages were mysteriously abandoned overnight in 1825. According to enduring legend, the fleeing villagers cast a deadly curse ensuring that no one could ever inhabit the land again. Today, its sandstone ruins draw tourists, historians, and ghost hunters.
