    Fingira Rock - Nyika Plateau

RumphiMalawiLate Stone Age / 3000 BC

Fingira Rock is an isolated granite inselberg and archaeological cave site located in the southern sector of the Nyika National Park. Excavations revealed Late Stone Age human burials dating back over 5,000 years, alongside red ochre rock art created by ancient hunter-gatherer communities. The remote, mist-shrouded rock shelter is held in fear by local villagers due to reports of ghostly whispers, glowing skeletal figures, and phantom campfires.
