Sof Omar Caves
Sof Omar Caves is the longest cave network in Ethiopia, spanning over 15 kilometres of subterranean limestone caverns carved by the Weyib River. Named after Sheikh Sof Omar, an 11th-century holy man, the vast subterranean network holds immense religious significance for local communities. Pilgrims and explorers speak of subterranean chants, disembodied whispers, and spirit guardians haunting the dark chamber called the Chamber of Columns.
