Gunaa Caves (Devil's Kitchen)
Gunaa Caves, originally named 'Devil's Kitchen' by British surveyor B. S. Ward in 1821, is a hazardous network of deep rock chasms and narrow cliff crevices near Pillar Rocks in Kodaikanal. Renamed after the 1991 cult film 'Gunaa', the site gained dark notoriety due to over 16 documented human disappearances in its bottomless stone pits. Surrounded by mist-shrouded shola forests and tangled tree roots, the caves carry a grim reputation as a realm of malevolent spirits and fatal traps.
