St. Michael's Cave
St. Michael's Cave is a breathtaking natural limestone cavern situated over 300 meters above sea level in the Upper Rock Nature Reserve. Used since antiquity by Phoenicians and Romans, the cavern was fitted as an emergency military hospital during World War II. Ancients believed the cavern was bottomless and served as a subterranean passage to Africa. Famous for its towering stalagmites and acoustic grandeur, the cave is also notorious for sightings of lost explorers, WWII medical spirits, and ancient spectres.
