Three Kings Chapel
Perched alone atop the isolated, windswept summit of Cuelim Hill in Cansaulim, South Goa, the Three Kings Chapel (officially Chapel of Our Lady of Remedies) is widely considered one of the most famous and active haunted sites in Western India. Founded in 1599 by Father Gonçalo Carvalho, this historic Portuguese chapel offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the Arabian Sea and Goan paddy fields. However, its idyllic daytime landscape belies a dark, blood-soaked history. According to enduring Goan folklore, three Portuguese rulers who fought over control of the region poisoned one another in a bid for absolute power and were buried within the chapel grounds. Visitors, paranormal investigators, and locals report ghostly presences, disembodied whispers, and oppressive nocturnal energy surrounding the hilltop after sunset.
