Delhi Cantonment Area
The Delhi Cantonment Area (Delhi Cantt), established by the British Indian Army in 1914, is one of the greenest and most heavily guarded military districts in New Delhi. Despite its pristine tree-lined avenues, manicured officer quarters, and strict military security, it is widely reputed as one of the most haunted urban stretches in India. Urban legends, night-shift commuters, and taxi drivers consistently report harrowing encounters with a ghostly woman dressed in a traditional white saree standing by the roadside, hailing passing vehicles, and reportedly running alongside speeding cars at impossible speeds.
