House of the Manaki Brothers
The House of the Manaki Brothers in Bitola is the historic residence and studio of Yanaki and Milton Manaki, the legendary pioneers of Balkan cinema who captured the region's first moving pictures in 1905. Located along Bitola's famous Shirok Sokak pedestrian promenade, this elegant late 19th-century townhouse has been preserved as a dedicated museum. Staff, researchers, and visitors report eerie paranormal activity inside, including self-activating vintage film projectors, disembodied footsteps, and apparitions of a mysterious 'Lady in White.'
