Tasek Merimbun Heritage Park
Tasek Merimbun is an ASEAN Heritage Park in Mukim Rambai, Tutong District, encompassing Brunei's largest natural blackwater lake. The dark, peat-stained waters surround Pulau Jelundong island, connected by a long timber footbridge. Sacred to the indigenous Dusun people for over five centuries, Tasek Merimbun is rich in supernatural folklore, including tales of Buaya Putih (the spectral White Crocodile guardian), unseen Bunian spirit villages on the island, and phantom chants echoing across the mist-shrouded black water at dawn.
