George Everest Peak
George Everest Peak and the historic Sir George Everest House sit on a high ridge in Hathipaon, Mussoorie, offering panoramic vistas of the Doon Valley and the snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Built in 1832 by Sir George Everest, Surveyor General of India, the estate served as his home, laboratory, and observatory. Despite its rich cartographic legacy, local folklore, whispering winds, and nocturnal encounters have given the hilltop estate a widespread reputation as one of Mussoorie's most atmospheric haunted landmarks.
