Škrinjari Haunted House
The Škrinjari Haunted House is widely considered Croatia's most infamous haunted house. Located directly off the D28 highway in the small village of Škrinjari between Sveta Helena and Vrbovec, this unfinished, abandoned multi-story brick home has stood vacant for decades. Built in the late 20th century, the house became national news due to chilling stories of baby cries, screams, shadowy apparitions, and mysterious deaths. Despite several owners offering the house for free to anyone who could spend a single night inside, no one has successfully claimed it.
