Londa Burial Cave
Londa Burial Cave in Toraja, South Sulawesi, is a cliffside cavern complex where the indigenous Torajan people have placed their deceased inside hanging wooden coffins and natural cave chambers for centuries. Guarded by life-sized carved wooden effigies known as 'Tau Tau' looking down from high cliff balconies, the dark cave interior houses stacked ancestral coffins, exposed human skulls, and centuries of traditional funeral offerings.
