Jakarta History Museum
The Jakarta History Museum, commonly known as the Fatahillah Museum, occupies the historic 18th-century Stadhuis (City Hall) of Batavia in Jakarta's Old Town (Kota Tua). Built by the Dutch East India Company (VOC), this massive Dutch Baroque building served as the seat of colonial government, supreme court, and prison. Its dark subterranean dungeons and public execution square make it one of Jakarta's most historically haunted landmarks.
