Fuvahmulah Havitta
Fuvahmulah Havitta is a colossal pre-Islamic Buddhist stupa mound located on the unique solitary island of Fuvahmulah in the far south of the Maldives. Explored by famous British archaeologist H.C.P. Bell in 1922, the ancient mound represents the remnants of a major Buddhist temple complex from the 1st millennium AD. Wrapped in centuries of mystery, local islanders revere the site as a haunted enclave of ancient spirits and protective sorcery.
